What is Ceremonial Cacao?
Ceremonial cacao is pure, minimally processed cacao in its most natural form. The minimal processing preserves its natural fats, minerals, and powerful properties. The cacao is traditionally prepared as a warm drink and consumed with intention to slow down, connect, and get closer to yourself.
For thousands of years, cacao has been used in indigenous traditions in Central and South America, where it is regarded as a sacred plant that nourishes body, heart, and spirit. Especially within the Mayan culture, cacao played an important role in ceremonies, rituals, healing, and community. Cacao was not only consumed as food but also as a way to connect with nature, ancestors, and the heart.
Alma de Cacao's cacao comes from the Amazon region of Peru, areas where cacao originally grows and where the relationship between humans, earth, and plant is still deeply intertwined. The quality of this cacao starts at its origin: the soil, the climate, the farming methods, and the intention with which the cacao is processed all contribute to the energy and effect of the cacao.
